The Biblical doctrines of Creation and the Flood are foundational. Do the Bible and genuine science conflict?
Not at all—a literal understanding of Genesis explains scientific evidence. True scientific understanding of the world will be in harmony with the Word of the Creator of that world.
Neither Creationism nor Evolutionism is “scientific,” for neither can be experimentally tested. Creationism is a belief about the distant past which attributes origins to God. Evolutionism is a belief about the distant past which attributes origins to natural processes. (But where did those processes come from?) Both models have the same physical evidence, but they propose different explanations for that evidence.
It is vitally important to base one’s thinking on the Bible. One must first accept Biblical statements as truth and then interpret scientific evidence in that light. Interpretation of evidence is not the same as the evidence itself. It is invalid logically and theologically to assume an interpretation (like evolution) and then deny the plain meaning of Scripture, twisting it in order to fit that preconceived interpretation.
Instead of straining to harmonize the Bible with Science, one should instead harmonize scientific interpretations and understandings with the Bible. The Bible must be the foundation for thought. Scripture above all else must govern one’s thinking. The Word of One Who was there at the beginning and Who knows everything has priority over the wild speculations of fallible men who were not there and who do not know everything.
Soli Deo Gloria.

Noah’s Flood—A Global Event.
Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind and said,
“Who is this that darkens counsel by words without knowledge? Now gird up your loins like a man, and I will ask you, and you instruct Me! Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding.” (Job 38:1-4)
