Bible-Science for Kids—Part 2

Gish-Amazing Story Creation

Many people have asked me about Bible-Science resources for teaching children, particularly elementary and junior high age. In this and the previous blog,
Bible-Science for Kids—Part 1,
I recommend some resources.

The Institute for Creation Research in Santee, CA and Dallas, TX has excellent Bible-Science resources. Dr. Henry Morris, father of the modern creation movement, founded ICR in the early 70’s. Here are some good resources for young people from ICR.

The Amazing Story of Creation from Science and the Bible by Dr. Duane Gish ($13, pictured above) is an account of the creation of the world, life, and man for young people. It integrates science with Scripture in simple terms.

Henry-Astronomy

ICR has a Wonders of Creation series of seven books (@$11-$14) written for junior high students by experts who explain scientific subjects in elementary terms and from a Biblical worldview.
The Astronomy Book
The Fossil Book
The Geology Book
The Ocean Book
The Weather Book
The Cave Book
The Archaeology Book

John Morris-Noah's Ark

Noah’s Ark and the Ararat Adventure ($14) by Dr. John Morris, president of ICR, explains the evidence for Noah’s Flood and the exciting story of the search for the Ark in the mountains of Ararat. It’s written for older elementary age children.

Most of ICR‘s other material is for high school or older. The ICR website has thousands of free on-line articles along with books and videos for sale.

ICR’s Museum of Creation and Earth History is a good educational resource to visit if you are in the San Diego area.

Visits to any of the various Creation museums around the country can encourage youth to explore science apart from the corrupting influence of the evolutionary thought which dominates science classes. Creation museums help demonstrate understanding of science within a Biblical worldview and help show that the earth is full of the glory of God.

And one (seraphim) called out to another and said, “Holy, Holy, Holy, is the LORD of hosts. The whole earth is full of His glory.” (Isaiah 6:3)

Master Books publishes sound creationist resources (now sold through New Leaf Press). It was started by ICR to publish creationist resources, because so many publishing houses refused to publish creationist books. Master Books was subsequently spun off to be an independent company.

Master Books has published dozens of top-notch colorful well-illustrated children’s books and DVD’s on dinosaurs, bumble bees, birds, animals, insects, whales, sea creatures, Noah’s Ark and the Flood, Tower of Babel, mammoths, plants and trees, and much, much more. Check out their website if you need absorbing children’s books to teach science within a Biblical worldview.

There is far more available on the web that you can find with search engines, but the prequel (Bible-Science for Kids—Part 1) and this one (Bible-Science for Kids—Part 2) will get you started.

Soli Deo Gloria.

But sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence. (1 Peter 3:15)
