Creation Sunday

Creation Sunday 2013

Sunday February 10 is Creation Sunday!!!

Will your church observe this date to specially honor God’s great work of creating the universe in Six Days? Get ready – it’ll be here in two more Sundays!

The Sunday closest to Charles Darwin’s birthday on February 12 has been designated Creation Sunday.

This was stimulated by atheist Michael Zimmerman’s Clergy Letter Project. Zimmerman collected clergy signatures to a letter supporting the teaching of Evolutionism and opposing the teaching of Creation. Shamefully, over 13,000 Christian and Jewish clergy have signed the letter.

This profane Clergy Letter Project promotes the Sunday closest to Darwin’s birthday on February 12 as Evolution Sunday and encourages churches to discuss and learn about Evolutionism. Countrywide 530 congregations plan to honor Charles Darwin’s word above God’s Word as they observe Evolution Sunday on February 10, 2013.

The Sabbath was originally set aside by the Creator as a day of rest following His Six Days of Creation about 6,000 years ago (Genesis 2:2-3; Exodus 20:8-11). It was intended to serve in part as a memorial of Creation (Exodus 31:12-17). The death penalty for violating the Sabbath shows how serious the Creator was about honoring Him and His work of creation with the Sabbath rest. The Sabbath rest for most people is now on Sunday.

Therefore it is most fitting that the Sunday closest to Darwin’s birthday be reclaimed as Creation Sunday to honor the Almighty’s work of Creation instead of stealing His glory for Darwin.

I urge worship leaders, pastors, and church leaders to stand for Biblical truth and teach the Genesis record of Creation on Creation Sunday.

See How To Celebrate A Creation Sunday for ideas on how to honor our Creator God. Here is a sample Creation Sunday sermon.

Soli Deo Gloria.

“For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day there is a sabbath of complete rest, holy to the LORD; whoever does any work on the sabbath day shall surely be put to death. So the sons of Israel shall observe the sabbath, to celebrate the sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant. It is a sign between Me and the sons of Israel forever; for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, but on the seventh day He ceased from labor, and was refreshed.” (Exo 31:15-17)
