What is your Starting Point for thinking about life, its meaning, where man came from, what your future is, and how to decide right and wrong?
Everything has an origin or Starting Point. Every person has a Starting Point, both for physical being and for thinking.
Starting Points determine how you see the world. They are the “glasses” through which you see, experience, and interpret all of life. Starting Points are the presuppositions through which you view the world. They are the basis of your worldview.
Here is my Starting Point:
There is a Creator God who made the universe, and He has revealed objective truth to man in the Bible.
There are basically two pairs of “glasses” by which to see the world:
Biblical Glasses (Bible is God’s Word and thus fully true) or Worldly Glasses (man’s word is true).
I choose Biblical Glasses. This determines how I see the world — morality, ethics, philosophy, science, history, and even politics and social issues. This Starting Point affects everything.
Choosing Worldly Glasses will lead you astray, as man’s word has proved to be in error many times in the past. It will confuse you about man’s origin, about right and wrong, about hotbed social issues, and about man’s destiny.
What is your Starting Point? It will be the basis for all your opinions and actions. Everything is built on your starting point. Choose wisely.
