Genesis: Paradise Lost, the Movie

(2 Minute Read)

“There are only two possibilities: we just happened, or somebody made us.”
– Astronomer Dr. Danny Faulkner

“They hijacked science and they convinced the whole world that science is only possible within an atheistic worldview.”
– Historian Dr. Terry Mortenson

“How can you not believe that somebody designed all this?”
– Astronomer Dr. Danny Faulkner

“The Law of Biogenesis says that all life comes from pre-existing life. And yet evolution says that life can come from non-life. But we see no examples of that today.”
– Science Educator Dr. Charles Jackson

“Evolution is not scientific fact. Millions of years is not scientific fact. Evolution and millions of years is the greatest myth ever forced on the minds of men. The reason everybody believes it is because they’ve been brainwashed.”
– Historian Dr. Terry Mortenson

These are quotes from a new documentary movie Genesis: Paradise Lost from Creation Today. It will be shown in over 700 theaters nationwide on Monday, November 13 and Thursday, November 16 in both 2D and 3D.

Thirty-five hundred years ago God inspired Moses to record the beginning of history. The history of the universe that Moses wrote, the book of Genesis, is the definitive book of humanity’s origin. And it explains why the world and mankind are broken.

Yet Genesis is the most attacked, the most questioned, and the most derided book of the Bible. The film Genesis: Paradise Lost defends the historicity, reliability, and accuracy of the early chapters of Genesis.

In addition to Faulkner, Jackson, and Mortenson, a dozen other respected apologists, scientists, and theologians speak in the film including Ken Ham of Answers in Genesis, Ray Comfort of Living Waters, medical doctors Dr. David Menton and Dr. Tommy Mitchell, and molecular geneticist Dr. Georgia Purdom.

Positives of the Film

– The content is very solid. It is the biggest strength of the movie.
– The visual dramatization and animation of the six days of creation from Genesis 1 was attractive and well-done.
– Nice depiction of Eden. Beautiful artwork, scenery, dinosaurs, photography, animation. Enjoyable music, appropriate and engaging.
– Good narration by Dr. Voddie Baucham — mellow, engaging voice, clear diction.
– Good variety of speakers. Speakers are expressive and articulate.
– Presented strong scientific evidence on controversial topics including Creation vs. Evolution, continental drift, divine design in biology, geology, physics, microbiology, and astronomy.
– Included good young universe arguments.

“It’s unbelievable what unbelievers
have to believe to be unbelievers.”

-Science Educator Dr. Charles Jackson

Negatives of the Film

– Too much “talking heads.” It got to be a bit tedious and repetitive, even though the content was very sound.
– The speakers’ names and affiliations should have been included as captions. I recognized and knew most of them, but for those I didn’t, it would have been helpful to have them identified.
– Great deal of jumping around among topics and speakers. The overflow of words in such rapid succession and the continual shifting of speaker and subject could be overwhelming for viewers not already familiar with the material.
– The interesting visuals went by too fast.
– The Gospel presentations at the end were repetitive and too long.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (Genesis 1:1)
It is Yahweh who made the earth by His power, who established the world by His wisdom. By His understanding He stretched out the heavens. (Jeremiah 10:12)

  1. I hope the DVD comes out soon. I think I’d like to watch it more than once.

  2. That grabbed me by the heart, and I really want to go see it. Thank you for telling us the negatives as well as the positives of this movie. When the DVD comes out, I hope my family will buy it and watch it over and over. Genesis is actually my favorite book of the whole Bible.

  3. Reblogged this on Special Creation Woman and commented:
This is something worth investigating, and I so hope you will. One of the two statements my husband has made over and over through the years is this: “We serve a God who can afford to be investigated.” I really believe that anything less would not be worthy of our adoration and following.
Please be sure to thank the author for making this post available.

  4. P.S. Thank you so much for making this material available. What a blessing!
