Kepler’s Campaign Advice

(5 Minute Read. 24Jun2020)

Where Did Kepler Get His Campaign Ideas?

Woof! Woof!
This is Kepler, Master’s Jack Russell terrier, writing another article for Master’s Bible-Science Guy Blog.

As many of Master’s readers know, I am running for President this year. See Kepler for President for my campaign announcement and for links to posts outlining my positions on the issues.

President Donald Trump appears to be my main competition for the presidency. I admire President Trump and think he’s doing almost as good a job as I would do.

However, realistically speaking, President Trump is more likely to win the November election than I am. And since I love America as much as he does, I think it’s in the best interest of my country to convey some campaign advice to President Trump, even though it will help him beat me.

Be sure to read the Backstory at the end to find out where I got my ideas for President Trump’s campaign!

President Trump’s Problem

President Trump was doing a very good job up until the Wuhan virus crisis hit. He had the economy roaring, he had nominated many good judges, he had supported religious liberty and pro-life policies, and he had reduced onerous governmental regulations, among many other good things.

But he has been distracted by the Wuhan virus crisis, by protests and riots, by the presidential preference polls, and by the continued attacks from Democrats and the press. Now the president is reacting to everything. He’s firing off scattershot in all directions without consistent messaging for his reelection campaign.

I have a simple solution to the president’s problem. I am going to send it to him in this open letter.

Kepler’s Open Letter to President Trump

Dear President Trump,

Here is my advice on how to reinvigorate and refocus your campaign to accomplish a huge win in November. My advice is short and sweet. It is summed up in only two words.

Focus on these two issues to the exclusion of everything else:
1. Safety (law and order and virus protection)
2. Work (jobs and the economy)

In short, the theme you should repeat over and over in order to Keep America Great is simply this:

“I am the President who will get you back to work and keep you safe. My Democrat opponent will do neither.”

Kepler ponders the presidential campaign

Every time the press or interviewers or politicians try to distract you with other issues, just reply that you are working both to keep people safe and to get the country back to work.

Answer every question by pivoting to these two points. Discuss and explain these two points in the context of whatever the question is.

For example, whenever you are asked about the spread of the Wuhan virus, point out all that you did to keep Americans safe from the virus — from stopping travel from foreign countries to mobilizing American industry in support of healthcare to supporting health initiatives. And point out how you have been working to open up the country and safely put people back to work as soon as possible.

For example, if you are asked about your policy regarding illegal aliens, explain how building a wall on our southern border will both help keep Americans safe and preserve jobs for Americans.

For example, if you are asked about wearing masks and physical distancing, answer along these lines. Point out how you wanted to open churches, while Democrats wanted to keep them closed, yet Democrats wanted to allow mass demonstrations. Say you want people working safely instead of protesting and rioting. Remind listeners of the measures you are taking to keep people safe during these turbulent times when many are disrespecting the law. Remind us that Democrats don’t want people to go back to work because that will restart the economy and lead to a Trump victory in November. But you are getting people back to work.

No matter what you are asked, pivot to speak about keeping America safe and putting America back to work.

Safety and work matter to me and my doggy friends too! From the canine point of view, if Master lets me run out on a busy street and I get hit by a car, then the details of my kibble brand are not very significant compared with my safety. Getting back to work is also a priority. I patrol campgrounds and Master’s yard for squirrels, groundhogs, and raccoons. The Great Creator gave me the skills to work to keep these vermin under control.

I advise you, Mr. President, to slow down with all the extraneous tweets. Ignore all the noisy provocation from the press and Democrats, and don’t get distracted. Instead maintain a consistent laser focus on two points: safety and work. You are the president who will keep people safe and get them back to work. This is a compelling and winning message.

Mr. President, I know how hard it is not to get distracted! When I am being served dinner, I’m supposed to lie down and bow my head as Master thanks the Great Creator for my food. But every evening Master has to remind me multiple times of these two items for me to focus on. The smell of my bowl is so arousing that I keep hopping up and dancing around instead of lying with bowed head in patient submission.

Often Master’s prayer is not as brief as I think it should be, and I get distracted from my other two main focus points. Then I pop my head up instead of bowing in reverence to my Great Creator the whole time. So I know it’s a challenge to let the main things be the main things. But of all people, you, Mr. President, are up to this challenge!

Stick to this two-point message no matter what. Discipline yourself to stay on point with work and safety.

Thank you, Mr. President. I wish you the best — especially in the event that you beat me in November.

Sincerely,
Kepler

The Backstory

Policy wonks among Master’s readers might wonder where I got this solution for President Trump. Well, I have learned from Master to always base my thinkings on Scripture. That’s where I got these ideas on how to help President Trump.

Since Scripture commands people to work and not be idle, it made sense to me for the President to stand behind, foster, and promote people getting back to work.
Now we command you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from any brother who is walking in idleness and not in accord with the tradition that you received from us. For you yourselves know how you ought to imitate us, because we were not idle when we were with you, nor did we eat anyone’s bread without paying for it, but with toil and labor we worked night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you. It was not because we do not have that right, but to give you in ourselves an example to imitate. For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat. For we hear that some among you walk in idleness, not busy at work, but busybodies. Now such persons we command and encourage in the Lord Jesus Christ to do their work quietly and to earn their own living. (2 Thessalonians 3:6-12 ESV)

Also Master says the Bible gives leaders the responsibility for safety and security via the authority to punish evildoers.
Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human institution, whether to a king as the one in authority, or to governors as sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and the praise of those who do right. (1 Peter 2:13-14)
First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. (1 Timothy 2:1-2)
For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good and you will have praise from the same; for it is a minister of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil. (Romans 13:3-4)

So that’s how things look from my Dog House!

Till next time, this is Kepler signing off. Woof! Woof!

But now ask the beasts, and let them teach you;
And the birds of the heavens, and let them tell you.
Or speak to the earth, and let it teach you;
And let the fish of the sea declare to you.
Who among all these does not know
That the hand of the LORD has done this,
In whose hand is the life of every living thing,
And the breath of all mankind?

  1. I think Kepler ought to run as his campaign ideas are excellent! So generous of him to share his advice with President Trump, even if the man is re-elected.

How to get people back to work? Bring all manufacturing jobs back from overseas; sharply raise tariffs on items we can easily make ourselves (I’m not including Swiss watches or chocolate among these–some things are better imported); and encourage idle workers to learn to produce simple musical instruments that can be sold through the schools so that the children will have something more productive than silly electronics and idle entertainments to busy themselves with.

Another idea might be to provide kids with the options of a trade school instead of high school for those whose skill sets are stronger toward the manual, rather than intellectual side. So long as adults can read and write and do simple math, anything beyond this is sometimes just boring and non-productive. Why waste the time of uninterested children with studies when they can be doing something useful and marketable with their hands?

    Just thinking out loud,

  2. Very good article. Wish President Trump would read it too.
I feel that people should wear a mask to prevent the spread of Covid 19. It’s a very doable prevention to help stop this virus.
    Thank You.
