Article Summary:
One of the most perplexing events in the Bible is the Long Day when Joshua commanded the sun and moon to stand still so that the Israelite army could complete its conquest of five Amorite armies. Another is when the sun’s shadow moved backwards on a sundial for a sign to Judah’s King Hezekiah that he would be healed. How is it possible for the sun to stand still or move backward? The God who hung 100 billion trillion stars in space so that not one of them is missing (Isaiah 40:26) can certainly tinker with the solar system to accomplish His purpose.
